What is an ASMR Massage?
An ASMR massage is a gentle, sensory-focused relaxation treatment inspired by the sounds, movements and personal attention commonly associated with ASMR (Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response). Unlike traditional massage, Light ASMR treatments don’t focus on deep pressure or working the muscles. Instead, they use gentle touch and a variety of relaxing sensory techniques to help you slow down, switch off and deeply relax. Light ASMR Massage has been offering dedicated in-person ASMR treatments from Paisley, Scotland since 2023.
Do I need to experience ASMR tingles to enjoy an ASMR treatment?
No. You don’t need to experience ASMR tingles to enjoy an ASMR treatment. Some clients experience the classic tingling sensation associated with ASMR, while others simply feel incredibly relaxed, sleepy or calm. Everyone responds differently, and there is no ‘right’ way to experience your treatment. You also don’t need to watch ASMR videos or even know much about ASMR before booking.
What Light ASMR treatment should I book?
The best ASMR treatment for you depends on the type of experience you’re looking for. Signature Light ASMR is the best place to start if you want to experience the original Light treatment and a variety of ASMR techniques. Light ASMR Facial combines the sensory relaxation of ASMR with a facial experience. Dry Head Spa focuses primarily on the head, hair and scalp for a deeply relaxing sensory experience. Who can book an ASMR treatment at Light ASMR Massage?
Light ASMR Massage is a female-only ASMR treatment studio in Paisley, Scotland. U18's must be accompanied by a consenting adult throughout the entire treatment. If you’re unsure whether a treatment is suitable for you due to pregnancy, a health condition, medication or another individual circumstance, please get in touch before booking.
Where is Light ASMR Massage based?
Light ASMR Massage is based in Paisley, Renfrewshire, Scotland, with treatments offered from our private female-only studio. 10 minutes by train from Glasgow Central. Full arrival information is provided before your appointment.
What is the cancellation/rescheduling policy?
Appointments can be rescheduled with at least 24 hours’ notice. Booking fees are non-refundable, and cancellations or no-shows within 24 hours of an appointment are charged at 100% of the treatment price. Please read the full booking terms before confirming your appointment.
Do I need previous massage or beauty qualifications to become an ASMR therapist?
No. You do not need previous massage, beauty or wellness qualifications to complete Light’s core ASMR training. Many Light students have started with no previous industry experience at all, while others are established massage, beauty or wellness professionals adding ASMR treatments to an existing business. The training is designed to teach you the practical techniques, treatment knowledge and business foundations needed to begin offering professional ASMR treatments.
Can I train to become an ASMR therapist online?
Yes. Light ASMR Massage offers both online and in-person ASMR therapist training. The online ASMR training is self-paced and can be completed from home, while in-person options include private 1:1 training and selected group training days in Paisley, Scotland. All routes cover the knowledge and techniques required for the qualification, so you can choose the learning format that suits you best.
Do online and in-person students receive the same ASMR qualification?
Yes. Online, 1:1 and group students work towards the same accredited ASMR qualification and must successfully complete the required assessment. The main difference between the training options is how you learn, not the qualification you receive. Online training gives you the flexibility to learn at your own pace, while 1:1 and group training provide hands-on, in-person learning.
Is Light ASMR training accredited?
Yes. Light ASMR Massage’s ASMR therapist training is professionally accredited by IPHM (International Practitioners of Holistic Medicine). Students must successfully complete the required training and assessment before certification.
Can I get insurance after completing Light ASMR training?
Yes! Light’s accredited ASMR training is designed to support graduates in obtaining insurance. Insurance requirements can vary, so students should always confirm their individual circumstances directly with their chosen insurer before beginning professional practice.
How long does the online ASMR training take?
Light’s online ASMR training is self-paced, so there is no requirement to complete the course within a set number of days or weeks. You can work through the learning around your existing commitments and revisit the training materials whenever you need them. Students receive lifetime access to the online course materials, including future updates made available within their course access.
How does the ASMR training assessment work?
To become certified through Light ASMR Massage, students must successfully complete both the required theory and practical assessment. The assessment currently includes a written assessment and a 10-minute practical video submission, allowing you to demonstrate your understanding and ASMR treatment techniques. You’ll receive clear assessment guidance as part of your training.
What equipment do I need to start offering ASMR treatments?
You don’t need thousands of pounds’ worth of specialist equipment to start an ASMR treatment business. Many ASMR tools and sensory items can be sourced affordably, and Light’s training includes guidance on the equipment and tools you may want to use when creating your own treatments. Your toolkit can develop alongside your business — you don’t need to own every possible ASMR tool before seeing your first client.
Does the ASMR training teach me how to start and market my business?
Yes. Light’s ASMR training goes beyond teaching treatment techniques and includes guidance on building, launching and marketing an ASMR treatment business. Luci built Light ASMR Massage from the ground up and continues to work with a consistently busy diary of returning clients, so the business and marketing education is based on experience from an actively operating ASMR treatment business. You’ll also learn about areas including client experience, content and marketing to help you turn your training into something you can actually use.
What support do I receive after completing my ASMR training?
Support doesn’t end when you receive your certificate. Light students receive ongoing support as they begin putting their training into practice, alongside access to the wider Light student community. The goal isn’t simply to help you complete a course — it’s to give you the knowledge and confidence to actually use your qualification and build something from it.
